  • Recruitment for the post of child and youth mental health lead in the HSE has begun.

The aim of this role is to provide leadership and operational oversight across child and adolescent mental health services nationwide. The person hired will be responsible for managing and coordinating service planning activities and capacity building, as well as setting standards for these services.

It is hoped that the creation of this role will result in improved links with the office of the National Clinical Advisor and Group Lead, which in turn will support the development of current and future youth mental health-related national clinical programmes.

According to the HSE’s national director of community operations, Yvonne O’ Neill, “this is a really welcome dedicated resource to support the ongoing improvement work in child and youth mental health services”.

The post holder will report to the HSE national director for community operations and will be supported by a dedicated team for which funding has been provided.

The role is currently being advertised here.
