  • This October, the HSE is reminding people that advisors and supports are available to help them to quit smoking permanently.

HSE Stop smoking clinics are free as part of a package of supports on offer to people who quit smoking through the HSE Quit Service.

Supports include free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), which are licensed medicines that  give you lower levels of nicotine to help people cope with cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

Research from the HSE Quit programme has shown that those who engage with the services can begin to bring their addiction under control within 28 days.
