364 more cases of COVID-19 confirmed

  • A further 364 cases of COVID 19 have been confirmed in the Republic, however no further deaths have been reported.

    The total number of cases here now stands at 38,032, while the total number of deaths is 1,810.

    Of the 364 new cases, 74% are in people under the age of 45.

    One-hundred of the cases occurred in Dublin, 55 in Cork, 31 in Donegal, 24 in Limerick and 23 in Galway.

    As of Sunday morning, there are 134 people being treated in hospital with confirmed COVID-19, an increase of 20 people since the day before. Of these 134 people, 20 are in ICU.

    Earlier on Sunday, NPHET met to asses the current situation. The meeting was chaired by chief medical officer, Dr Tony Holohan, who has returned to his post following time off for family reasons.

    Meanwhile in Northern Ireland, one further death and 462 new cases of the virus have also been confirmed.
