Efforts continue to avert junior doc strike

  • A number of issues remain to be resolved in the ongoing attempts to avert a strike next week by junior doctors, the IMO has said.

    The IMO met yesterday to consider HSE proposals on the implementation of limits on junior doctor the working week and shift work.

    The union said while some progress had been made there remained a number of issues to be resolved.

    The IMO said the HSE is due to revert today with proposals to address its concerns.

    The union warned that although progress was being made in attempts to resolve the working hours dispute, industrial action remained a possibility.

    The IMO's junioor doctor committee will meet again shortly to consider any further clarification from the HSE.
