Praveen Halappanavar's solicitor met yesterday with the Chairman of the HSE review group on Savita Halappanavar's death.

Gerard O'Donnell told RTE he was 'very pleased' with the lengthy meeting he had with the chairman of the review group, Prof Sabaratnam Arulkumaran.

Prof Arulkumaran has reviewed the transcripts from the recent coroner's inquest into Ms Halappanavar's death. The inquest, held last month, recorded a verdict of death by misadventure.

Mr O'Donnell said Prof Arulkumaran had indicated that the recommendations made by the coroner were substantially embodied in the final draft HSE report.

The report is expected to be published in the coming weeks.
