  • Over one-quarter of Irish adults worry about their health all the time, a new survey has found.

According to the findings, 27% worry all the time about their health, while 16% worry at least once a week.

The survey also found that while around 40% of adults are likely to make a health-related New Year resolution, 28% of these are likely to soon lose interest in that resolution.

The survey of 1,017 adults was carried out last month and it noted that maintaining a healthy weight was the biggest health concern for 24% of people, while not getting enough sleep was the biggest concern for 16%.

It also noted that those aged between 18 and 24 are much more likely to be concerned about diet and nutrition than people in other age groups, while those aged 65 and older are much more likely to be concerned about their blood pressure.

The survey was carried out on behalf of LloydsPharmacy, which has launched a free eight-week programme, Change Your Health Direction, which aims to help people to make long-term health improvements, such as quitting smoking, managing their weight and helping with sleep difficulties.

Anyone interested in signing up for the programme can do so at their local LloydsPharmacy.
