A new project has been launched aiming to improve the quality of life of people living with dry eye disease.

The NO TEARS project has been developed by researchers at the South East Technological University (SETU). It stands for New Opportunities in Teaching, Engaging and Advocacy Research Seminars.

Funded by SETU's interdisciplinary research seed funding project, NO TEARS is led by a team of experts in ocular science, health and person-centred research.

Dry eye disease affects more than 350 million people worldwide. Despite its significant impact on individuals' lives, effective treatment options are limited.

The project begins this autumn and will host a series of events at SETU's Waterford campus. These events are designed to bring people with dry eye disease together with researchers and healthcare professionals to find treatment solutions.
